The TRUCKRIGHT Industry Vehicle (TIV) was launched at the Dubbo Show and attended for the three days from 25th to the 27th April 2008. It was on display as a b-double combination with the two Rod Pilon trailers opened up and partly loaded showing legal load restraint measures and had the RTA Inspection Vehicle at the next site, with two RTA officers in attendance to answer questions, which was also arranged by Rod Hannifey.
The new trailers to complete the TIV and make it a visually attractive and also an educational unit were ordered by Rod Pilon at the Australian Trucking Association Convention in Canberra on 28th May 2008
Event One.
The TIV was invited to and attended and took part in the inaugural Narrabri Convoy for Kids on 5th October and was then on display at the entertainment following the convoy through the town.
Event Two.
The TIV was invited to the Newcastle Road Transport Group Awareness Day on the 2nd November and was on display on the Newcastle foreshore for the day with many spending the time to read the whole side and messages on the TIV trailers.
Event Three.
TIV was on display in Dubbo at the meeting of the National Road Freighters Association on 7th February 2009.
Event Four.
TIV took part in the Melbourne Convoy for Kids 15th February 2009.
Event Five.
The TIV was on display at the front of the Council Chambers for the Newell Highway Roundtable Meeting in Parkes on the 15th April 2009. I met with the NSW Minister for Transport who committed to do a trip in the TIV and spoke to the meeting on drivers issues re the Newell Highway.
Event Six.
The TIV was on display at the front of the Gold Coast Convention Centre for the Australian Trucking Convention from the 21st to 24th April 2009 drawing much favourable comment and with many, many photos taken of the unit.
Event Seven.
The TIV prime mover was on display on the Tramanco stand at the Brisbane Truck and Machinery Show, 14th to 17th May 2009.
Event Eight.
The TIV was filmed for the New Inventors Program for the world first “road reading” capability of this working b-double. The show went to air on 29th July and the INS-COM software won the best invention on the night going on to the grand final.
Event Nine.
The TIV was featured on the 7PM Project during a live cross to the Rod Pilon Transport Depot in Melbourne in response to a Victorian suggestion to exclude trucks from using the fast lane. I offered a ride to those on the show and Carrie committed to do a trip.
Event Ten.
The TIV was entered in the Australian Freight Logistics Awards, Industry Promotion Category. It was a finalist again this year.
Event Eleven.
The TIV attended the Shepparton Agricultural Show on the 9th and 10th October and was on display along with the Australian Trucking Associations Sharing the Road display vehicle.
Event Twelve.
I was asked to speak at the Goulburn Valley Road Safety Group Dinner as part of Transport Awareness Week and the TIV was on display as well.
